Fairy Tales : Modernized

The project Fairy Tales Modernized was first created in 2011, but was not launched until 2013 when Momento Photography was created.  Thanks to many models, makeup artists, countless locations and to the public for bearing with us and for not judging haha!
The little Red Riding Hood

For our first Fairy Tales shoot, we made a lot of mistakes that made us learn our lesson!  First, don't schedule a shoot right before sunset (We should have started an hour before we did).  The photos were dark and needed a lot of fixing!   Second, explore the location before planning a shoot there.  We ended up wasting time looking around for the perfect spots! haha Some photos turned out great, but we decided to re-shoot in the winter.

Tinkerbelle

Tinkerbelle, modeled by Nicole Fay Sears, was perfect!  The location was beautiful, the sun was shining, and unfortunately, the musquitos were hungry!  But, nothing a few sprays of Off can't help!  We had a few laughs when we made Nicole try to 'fly', but she was a trooper!

The Little Mermaid

Although Andrea was about 10 weeks pregnant, she didn't let it stop her from being the perfect Ariel!  Mike, her husband, was also a great Eric! We had a lot of fun at the beach that day!

Sleeping Beauty

This shoot went so beautifully that you would have thought they were a couple too!  But no, which is why the famous 'Kissing scene' was non-existant!  Lawrence had a lot of fun with the antique sword!  We also experienced a great act of human kindness from a man on kijiji who let us use his spinning wheel for free and trusted us to not break it and bring it back!

Cinderella

Well, what can we say about this one?  Maybe we shouldn't have brought in mice?  If you were in the surrounding, you heard Amy's screams!  We had to use Nadine's hands for a few shots because Amy was NOT going to touch a mouse!

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland was probably our best Fairy Tales shoot.  We had ideas upon ideas, lots of awesome props, including Munchkin the cat as Chechire Cat and Oreo the bunny as the Mad Hatter!  We also had the privilege to meet Christina, who later became a great friend!

Pocahontas

Pocahontas was quite the adventure!  First, Nadine encountered a snake, then we had fun throwing leaves at Tammy for a good 5 minutes.  We then sent two people who never padeled a canoe onto a lake and then asked complete strangers if we could borrow their pug for a few shots!  We had such a great time shooting that it made us wish we could live in a world where people appreciated nature as much as Pocahontas!

Beauty and the Beast

We ended up shooting Beauty and the Beast on a busy Moncton street on a very cold day!  The sun went down too quickly and the shots didn't turn out very well so we re-shot it with different models at a different location.

Snow White

Wow, talk about a cold day!  Those two girls were troopers!  The shoot didn't last long, but the lighting was so perfect!  :)
